e-fundresearch: Mr Sachs, you are the fund manager of the Janus US Twenty (ISIN: IE0004445239) fund. Since when have you been responsible for the fund ?
Sachs: I have been the portfolio manager of the Janus US Twenty fund since 01/01/08.
e-fundresearch: Which benchmark do you adhere to?
Sachs: The primary benchmark index is the Russell 1000 Growth Index, with the S&P 500 –as the secondary index.
e-fundresearch: Are you also responsible for other funds at the moment?
Sachs: I am also responsible for the Janus Forty Funds which are for US-based investors only and private accounts in the Aggressive Growth discipline for institutional clients. This invests in a core group of 20-40 stocks, as opposed to the Janus Twenty Fund which covers 20-30 stocks.
e-fundresearch: What is the total volume that you manage in all your funds?
Sachs: $15 billion under management as at 31st Dec 2008.
e-fundresearch: Regarding the performance: What has been the performance since the beginning of the year and in the years 2003-2008? Absolutely and relatively to the relevant benchmark?

e-fundresearch: How long have you been a fund manager already?
Sachs: I joined Janus in July 1996 as a research analyst focusing on U.S. media, broadcasting, financial and technology companies. Then from June 2000 to January 2008, I served as portfolio manager of the Janus Orion Fund and all related portfolios, before becoming portfolio manager of the Janus US Twenty fund. Prior to joining Janus, I worked as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company, and prior to that worked as a securities attorney advising public and private companies on capital markets and general corporate matters.
